The university started its activity by accepting 167 students in 1983.

Accepting students according to facilities, the society's needs, social settings and applicants' interests.

The path of movement

The office of Educational Affairs is doing its activities by plans guiding, monitoring and evaluating the educational activities of the university in order to match the university education with other activities and needs of the society and the country.

This office by using the experience of organizational culture in competition with other universities, offers its services to students and faculty members.

The office of Educational Affairs is trying to use the quality management principles and modern efficiency in making the processes fast and efficient, extending the complementary higher education and do its best in meeting their needs.

The main direction of this office is to guide the university's educational activities towards accountability to the needs of the society and educating the skilled human forces.

Variety of universitydisciplints

Development of university disciplines is a step toward progress in every region. So the office of Educational Affairs of IAUM by taking paradigm of developed countries has started to develop differentiate the disciplines. Aimed at enhancing complete stakeholders' participation inside and outside of the university, this office has extended new majors with emphasis in interdisciplinary with interactive cooperation among different sections and different faculties of the university. On the other hand, the most interesting feature of higher education in developed countries is the variety of university majors. Variety of university disciplines with different branches and also variety of jobs and the close relationship between education and favorite job needs students' planning for theireducational future.

Extension the university disciplines

The university Started its activities in 1983 by accepting students in 4 majors: Mathematics ( application in computer science), Chemistry, Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics In average, every year 5 majors is added.

At present IAUM accepts students in 129 majors.

Proportion of student in different departments

In 1983 the office of Educational Affairs started its activities by accepting 167 students in Science.

10 years after establishment of the university, 6081 students in Human sciences, 1477 students in Science, 729 students in Medical sciences, 1450 students in Engineering, 620 students in Agriculture and 176 students in Art were studying in the university.

The number of students in different departments in 2007 has been as the following :

8921 students in Human sciences, 3446 students in Science, 1811 students in Medical sciences, 8287 students in Engineering, 1023 students in Agriculture and 2077 students in Art. 35 percent in the department of Human sciences

32/5 percent in the department of Engineering 13/5 percent in the department of Basic Sciences 8 percent in the department of Arts 7 percent in the department of Medical sciences 4 percent in the department of Agriculture

Levels of education and Percentages of students in different levels

In 1983, the university just accepted students in bachelor level. The office of Educational Affairs established other levels gradually. Regarding the policies of central organization, some changes have been made in the number of students in different levels since 2003 up to 2008. the percentage of students in associated level changed from 18 to 16, the percentage of students in master level changedfrom 6 to 8. 

University adherence to the communication of teaching and research

In advanced and developing countries the complementary education students, as the cooperators and assistants, expedite practical work of the research and in fact activation of the research is their responsibility.

Importance of complementary education for research clubs as the bases of science  extension is an unforgettable necessity.

Increase of complementary education students

The educational affairs office of the university in 1987 proceeded to admit 179 students in the grades of complementary education(PHD).Since the first year of  admission  of   students  in  the  grades  of complementary education the educational affairs office of the university, with appropriate programming,has been able to add in average 100 students each year to the students who were occupied in education in the grades of complementary education.

First preference

The first preference of the Educational Affairs Office is importance and ever increasing attention of complementary education.

Development of the students admission in complementary education grade is the university preference in tabilization of capacity of the students admission during the rest of the Fourth and Fifth Development  Plan of IAUM.

Establishment of interdisciplinary of complementary education in direction of science production is very important that we follow.

Establishment of these fields in addition to the creation of links between different fields has motivated students to the continuation of their education.

Indexes of improvement and development of academic education in educational area

The Educational Affairs Office of IAUM, in its development plan ,aim at the elements that are stated in reports of the research center and presidential documents as index of improvement and development of academic education in educational area. Therefore the office, in the remaining time of its Fourth development Plan of the university, has succeeded

to increase the ratio of the complementary education students to whole students and establish new fields in the complementary education periods. Also increasing ratio of faculty members to students and change of faculty members pyramid, appropriation of scholarship quota to PHD students regarding provision of faculty members, that is considered as the other branches of development of academic education, are among the office activities.

The Education Affairs Office of IAUM is proud of, after a quarter of century efforts for development of the society scientific level, succeeding to educate 57490 postgraduates for the society.

Most of the postgraduates are in BA grade.(68 percent)

Most of the postgraduates are in Humanities scientific group (51 percent) and then in technical and engineering scientific group.(18 percent)

Up to now 3775 students have graduated in supplementary education grade and serve in scientific and research area of the country.

The ever growing scientific trend of women present good horizons for their further role in different activities of the society. The women scientific growth in addition to half of the society members’ science growth, has great effect on knowledge of  the other members of the society.

53 percent of total postgraduates of the university are women.

Postgraduates’ scientific Level

·          Admission of 20 percent of the university graduates in complementary education periods

·          The education affairs office is proud of considering the development of students scientific level as one of the most important goals of IAUM in its Fourth Development Plan. One of the important index in this matter is the admission of the students in the complementary education periods. Statistical numbers admit the university success in recent years.

·          IAUM has the capability and ability of becoming one of the most valid university of the country and of the world and in this regard university officials do and will do all their efforts.
